Cadence Academic Network
The EDA group of the Institute of Microelectronic Systems is member of the Cadence Academic Network. Cadence is a leading vendor of electronic design automation tools. Both research and teaching profit from the cooperation with Cadence especially concerning analog/mixed-signal and physical design tools.
Education
- Project-oriented course Micrelectronics - ChipDesign
The physical design is done using Cadence tools.
Research
Several research projects have been accomplished in cooperation with Cadence. The following list shows links to selected projects.
Special Activities
- Prof. Barke initiated the student contest "Invent a chip". Since 2001 staff of the EDA group teaches the basics of chipdesign to pupils. They care for the participants of the competition and allow them to design their own chip. Cadence tools are used for physical design here.
