Arrival by plane

Arrival at the airport Hannover (HAJ). Take a taxi (approx. EUR 20,-) or go by train S5 to destination `Hameln` and get off the train at `Hannover Nordstadt` (http://www.efa.de). The distance to the IMS is a 10-minute-walk (s. detailed map).

Arrival by train

Arrival at Hannover central station. Either take a taxi (approx. EUR 9,-) or go by tram, number 4 or 5 to destination `Stöcken` or `Garbsen`, from tram station `Kröpcke` (which is a only 5-minute-walk from the central station via `Bahnhofstraße`). You will want to get off the train at `Schneiderberg/Wilhelm-Busch-Museum`. The distance to the IMS is a 5-minute-walk (s. detailed map).

Arrival by car

Arriving on motorway A2 (from the west or east):

Take exit Hannover Herrenhausen and go via Westschnellweg towards Hannover (City). Leave the Westschnellweg ast exit Herrenhausen and follow the sign Universität, leading you on the Herrenhäuser Straße to Nienburger Straße, from where you will turn left into Schneiderberg. Cross Callinstraße and then turn left into Appelstraße. The first gateway on the right leads to Appelstr. 4. You may leave your car at the parking lot in the court yard. Another large parking lot is just on the other side of the Appelstraße. The institute is located on the third floor (Architectures and Systems) and fourth floor (Electronic Design Automation) of the building Appelstraße 4.

Arriving on motorway A7 (from the north):

At the intersection Hannover Nord you will want to take A352 to Dortmund merging into A2. Leave A2 at exit `Hannover Herrenhausen` and continue as described above.

Arriving on motorway A7 (from the south):

At the exit Hannover Messe branch into A37 and go on the Messeschnellweg up to Seelhorster Kreuz. From now on follow the long-distance signs towards Nienburg (B6). In detail you go via Südschnellweg to the first roundabout, turn right into Frankfurter Allee and proceed via Ricklinger Kreisel, Friedrich Ebert Straße, Göttinger Straße, Deisterplatz (roundabout) and Westschnellweg up to the exit Herrenhausen. Via the `Herrenhäuser Straße` you will now continue as described above.
