The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science's Future Mobile has been visiting schools, trade fairs, and similar events since 2012, informing students about the faculty's degree programs.
The Idea
Terms such as telecommunications, artificial intelligence, energy transition, networking, microelectronics, robotics, and electromobility are currently present in the media. They are related to subjects in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science and refer to topics of social, ecological, and economic relevance.
But what exactly do they mean? Why are these topics so important for the future? And how can schoolchildren participate in the future development of our world? Staff from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science convey this information with the Future Mobile.
Our concept
Interactive experiments
Using current experiments, faculty staff explain the study and research content, which may initially sound abstract to many young people.
Our aim is to spark curiosity about technical degree programs.
Individual consultations
We address topics that are of particular interest to the students. We show them relevant experiments and answer all their questions about studying.
No more lectures—we want to engage in dialogue with students!
Looking to the future
We explain that our lives are already closely linked to electrical engineering and computer science. As graduates of our faculty, students could further develop innovative technologies and thus help shape our everyday lives in the future. We provide information about career prospects for engineers and computer scientists.
Dates
The Future Mobile is aimed at students in grade 10 and above. It visits schools, ideally as part of project days or other special events. We also participate in trade fairs and similar information events on choosing a course of study or career.
