Das IMS-AS gratuliert Malte Hawich zur Promotion

IMS-AS congratulates Malte Hawich for his successful PhD Defense

On May 13, Malte Hawich successfully defended his dissertation, titled “Design of a high performance RISC-V-architecture as high temperature-ASIC for deep drilling systems”, in a public presentation followed by an examination. The examination committee consisted of Prof. Blume, Prof. Stefan Wallentowitz, and Prof. Daniel Lohmann.

This work is a further milestone in our research on robust electronics for harsh environments. The RISC-V architecture has been optimized for the special requirements of challenging signal processing tasks in high temperature environments. The final ASIC has been tested in a high-temperature test chamber. It represents an advancement in the state of the art Pareto front for signal processing in harsh environmental conditions.

Congratulations Malte!
