IMS-Doktorand Tim Kuhlmann mit Poster Award beim PwrSoC 2025 ausgezeichnet

IMS PhD Student Tim Kuhlmann Receives Poster Award at PwrSoC 2025

The Institute of Microelectronic Systems (IMS) congratulates its PhD student Tim Kuhlmann on winning third place in the Poster Award at the International Workshop on Power Supply on Chip (PwrSoC) 2025, held from September 24–26, 2025, at Seoul National University, Korea. The award is jointly presented by the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and the Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA).

Tim Kuhlmann was recognized for his poster “Synthesis of High-Conversion-Ratio Multi-Phase Fibonacci Converter Topologies.” His work introduces an efficient synthesis algorithm for multi-phase Fibonacci converters, which offer high conversion ratios and strong potential for novel high-voltage converter topologies. Such approaches contribute to the development of energy-efficient power delivery concepts for AI data centers and high-voltage applications in electromobility.

The PwrSoC Workshop is the world’s leading forum dedicated to the integration and miniaturization of power converters, bringing together top experts from academia and industry worldwide.

Tim Kuhlmann is pursuing his PhD at IMS under the supervision of Prof. Bernhard Wicht in the Mixed-Signal Circuits (MX) research group. The entire IMS team congratulates him on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to his continued contributions to the field of chip-integrated power converters.
