Abstract

The quality of education is obviously important not only for graduates, but also for the economy, i.e., future employers. Not only must quality be ensured, but the educational content must be tailored to the current and future requirements of local, regional, national, and international industry. Therefore, industry plays a particularly significant role here. This article describes the accreditation process in the USA and the EU and its international context in education. Accreditations of universities and colleges are becoming increasingly important for the international comparability of educational qualifications and content, even outside the USA and the EU.
