Voluntary Scientific Year
Launched in 2011, the Voluntary Scientific Year is a pilot project offered to High School Graduates during their Voluntary Social Year. In partnership with the Hannover Medical School, yhe Leibniz University and its partner institutions, offer graduates the opportunity to acquire practical hands on experience in the field of Microelectronics under guidance of PHD graduates.
Pupils are given an insight into running projects, learn the basics of electronics and build experiments for lectures and labs. they also have the chance to develop circuits, go to lectures, learn ANSI C, microcontroller programming and soldering.
Students apprentice are guided in the principles of electrical engineering, transistors, switches and basic microelectronic controller programming. Furthermore, pupils from project "Forschergeist" are shown how to solder a circuit board and program a game.
