Logic Design of Digital Systems

The course presents the systematic design of combinatorial logic and sequential logic, i.e., finite state machines. Starting with Boolean algebra, the minimization of digital functions (using Karnaugh and Quine-McCluskey) is covered. A major topic is the design of synchronous and asynchronous finite state machines, including equivalent and covered minimal machines. Finally, the partitioning of complex structures using smaller automata is presented.
