In July 2024, the new textbook by Prof. Bernhard Wicht, "Design of Power Management Integrated Circuits," was published. Spanning nearly 500 pages, it offers a comprehensive guide to the design of power management ICs. This textbook fills a gap in this rapidly growing field, for which there has been no international standard work until now. It covers topics such as the design of voltage regulators, power switches, gate drivers, level shifters, error amplifiers, and control loops. Additionally, it discusses protection and diagnostic circuits as well as aspects of physical design, such as grounding and packaging, in detail. The textbook provides practical examples and insights from both industrial and academic perspectives.
It is aimed at students, instructors, professors, as well as new and experienced engineers in the field of IC design and system and circuit design in general.
The book was published by Wiley in English (Link). It will also be available physically at the TIB from September 2, 2024 (Link) and is now accessible online within the university network (Link).
